Hoosier Films is a film distributor like none other: we exclusively represent regional filmmakers. By keeping things local, we can directly engage with local audiences and help grow awareness and support for local filmmakers.

We are non-exclusive – we never want to limit your opportunities with your film. In fact, we encourage you to seek other options to get your film to a global audience. That said, your biggest supporters will also be those closest to home, and we are working to develop strong relationships with local audiences to garner long-term support of the local film community.

Types of Distribution

Hoosier Films provides multi-platform distribution and grassroots marketing to directly engage local audiences. Our streaming platform with its low-cost annual subscription (SVoD) is a perfect entry for audiences to explore and discover films and filmmakers from across the state. We operate SVoD as a 50/50 profit share with filmmakers – each film receives a share of profits as a percentage of total minutes watched each month. Earnings average around $0.45 per hour watched. (Compare that to other open platforms: Amazon Direct offers $0.06, and approximately $0.01 from YouTube.)

Filmmakers can also sell individually with Transactional On-Demand (TVoD), earning an industry-leading 80% (after transaction fees). Customers can stream the film on our website or through our Roku channel, and download a DRM-free HD or SD (optimized for mobile) video file of the film.

This fall, Hoosier Films will expand into theaters across the state with our Monthly Movie Nights. These monthly screenings will include a feature film or long block of short films. Films selected for screenings will share a fixed screening fee from each participating theater. You may choose whether to grant Hoosier Films theatrical rights to your film, but there is no guarantee that it will be selected for screenings.

Additional public screenings may be held for select films, with the filmmaker(s) receiving a 50% share of net ticket sales.
