Thomas DeCarlo

Owner of DeCarlo Animation, Thomas grew up in Greencastle, Indiana and has been living in Bloomington since 2010.

He began producing live-action films, completing his first film in high school, and his first feature film at age 19. He began teaching himself computer animation in 2005 and released his multi-award-winning animated short, The Encounter, 12 years later. He is the Co-Founder of Hoosier Films and the president of the Coalition of Independent Cinematic Artists.

Thomas is currently producing his first computer-animated feature as the writer, director, co-producer, and animator. It will be the first computer-animated feature to be produced in Indiana, the first to be independently produced in the US in over 15 years, and the first in the world to be produced at this scale (less than a dozen people on the creative team!). It has an expected release of 2024.
